The valley's calendar
The park can be visited year-round, but what you'll see changes with the season. Here's what's happening when, so you can plan around what you want to find.
May · June · July
Wild mushrooms in the understory appear with the first autumn and winter rains.
August · September · October · November
The peak of spring flowering, with the greatest diversity of species. The full guide is on Flora in La Campana.
January · February · March · April
The palm grove enters its fruiting and seed stage.
La Cortadera Waterfall
It carries water nearly all year round. The exception is summer: in January and February the flow drops to very little. If seeing the waterfall is the point, avoid those two months.
For hiking
The best season for walking the trails is after the first autumn rain and until October, to avoid summer's intense heat and sun exposure.
